Profile
Having served his apprenticeship with the Firm, John qualified as a solicitor in 1978 and became a Partner in 1983. He now works on a consultancy basis for the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department.
His particular expertise lies in mergers, acquisitions and disposals of companies, including management buyouts/ins. John is regularly retained by legal practices outside the jurisdiction to provide advice on Northern Irish legal aspects of national and international transactions.
John is also experienced in a wide range of commercial agreements including in particular those related to the motor trade, the food industry, estate agencies, timber supply and renewable energy.
He also has many years litigation expertise mainly in the field of defendant insurance litigation.
John has been commended in Chambers Legal Directory for his good legal knowledge and solid all-round experience and has been described as being “pragmatic and straight forward”.
